Search Queries
A query entered in a search box is transmitted to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the terms and supplies its result. Cass County Criminal History does not keep or log those search terms on its own system.
Messages and Contact Submissions
A message sent directly to us may be retained long enough to answer and maintain the related correspondence. It is not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is legally required.

No Criminal-Record Data on File
Cass County Criminal History does not maintain, sell, or compile a database of personal criminal-history records. It publishes general directions to sources such as Cass County courts, the Sheriff's Office, Michigan State Police CJIC, MDOC, and the Michigan Public Sex Offender Registry. Visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports, and the site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power search boxes. Information submitted to one of those tools falls under that company's privacy policy, retention rules, and sharing practices. Those practices are outside our control, so users should read the partner policy before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Cass County offices, Michigan agencies, court portals, legal resources, registry pages, or outside search services. Once a visitor leaves this website, the destination's policy governs. Advertising providers may also use their own systems to measure activity across websites.

Personal information is not sold. Limited information may be available to:

Applicable Michigan and federal law may provide rights concerning personal data. Michigan's Freedom of Information Act, MCL 15.231 et seq., governs requests to public bodies, while MCL 28.242 addresses state criminal-history collection and authorized access. Those government-record laws do not make this private site a public records custodian. For data held by us, a person may request the following where the law applies:
- A copy of personal information held about that person
- Correction of inaccurate personal information
- Deletion of eligible personal information
- An opt-out from certain processing when available
